Website Update

Here’s a little update on this blog. Currently I have created 701 blog entries. About 207 of them are scheduled to be automatically published in the future.
On some days I only have one blog entry scheduled (rare). Most days I try to put out three blog entries.
At the end of last year when I deleted my previous blog I saved only a handful of entries to carry over. I believe I deleted about 1,100 previous blog entries.
The nice part about having a blog is that I can put in a few hours and create a bunch of entries to be published at a later date. While it might appear that I’m constantly on the computer creating entries, in reality I’m not. Also, I’ve gotten faster creating entries over the years. Someone can send me something in an email and, if I want to, can post it out in a minute or two.

Upcoming Items

NativityPostageStamp.jpgI have a ton of new items that will soon be posting on this blog.
The current set of photos from the Basilica in Washington, D.C. is still posting.
This will be followed a series of photos from the Franciscan Monastery in Washington, D.C.
Along the way will be several new inspirational photos I’ve added verses to.
I’ll even throw in a religious song along the way.
Beginning on February 1, and running for 15 days, will be a series of religious humor items.
Now that I have more free time on my hand, I’ve decided to do a study on The Stations of the Cross. I have images of many paintings and sculptures that I’ll be posting. I’m also thinking about writing a piece or two about the stations of the cross. I find that an interesting item.
I also have come up with nine ‘religious’ sand sculptures. I’ll also be adding some of the interesting items I’ve read about ‘prayer’ from E.M. Bounds books.
Finally, many years ago, I put together a stamp collection on the Life of Christ. I just borrowed the collection back and will scan quite a few of the stamps for the blog.

Website Statistics

Here are a few website statistics.
During 2007, this website and blog had 61,932 ‘unique’ visitors who made a total of 116,220 visits, visited 291,390 pages and had 2,237,344 ‘hits’.
During the last three months of 2006 (Oct – Dec), we had 63,932 unique visitors who visited a total of 80,225 times, viewed 159,478 pages and had 2,390,902 ‘hits’.
These totals will drop dramatically in 2008, probably to about 10% of last years totals. Going from the conservative politically incorrect blog to a more religious based blog will definately decease the number of visits.
At least one regular visitor really took me to task for changing my style of writing and won’t be returning to this website and blog. I’m sure there are others that felt the same way, but didn’t email me.
Oh well, the bottom line is that this is my website and blog and I must do what I feel is right. I’ve grown tired of political, national, and world events.

Here is a photograph of our grandson, Jackson Reverdy Orrell, taken at Christmas. He turned one year old on 20 December and took his first steps on his birthday.
As you can see from this series of postings (12 days; 26 Dec 07 – 6 Jan 08), he has plenty of expression.
